Social Tenant Access to Information Requirement scheme (STAIRs) gives people living in social housing clearer access to information about how their homes and services are managed. As part of this, housing providers must make key information available to tenants in an open and transparent way. We are publishing this information on our website so you can easily find out more about how we work, how decisions are made, and how we manage our homes and services.

On this page, you will find the key information that we need to publish under STAIRs to support openness and help tenants and the people we support understand how we operate.

You will find key information about our organisation via the various links below.

If you require support in accessing, navigating or understanding this section of our website, please contact stairs@ljha.co.uk. Please also contact us if you require information which is not listed in this publication scheme. Information on the different ways to contact us can be found on our Contact Us page.

We publish information to residents and external stakeholders in a range of formats. We are committed to providing accessible information to all our residents, whether proactively, or in response to specific requests. If you would like any of our documents in other formats, or to discuss your personal access needs, please contact stairs@ljha.co.uk.

About Us

LJHA is an established Jewish-led community based Registered Social Housing Provider. We are committed to providing and maintaining sustainable community housing, focusing mainly on the needs of the local Jewish community. LJHA’s policies and procedures conform to the Government’s Regulator of Social Housing’s standards. We are keen to create safe, mixed-tenure neighbourhoods with quality homes at prices people can afford and in areas they want to live.

We have almost 550 properties in our portfolio and provide a mixture of homes for single people, families, older people and shared ownership. Our properties are located around the LS17 postcode of Leeds within the areas of Moortown and Alwoodley. We are registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1965 and are regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing. We are members of the National Housing Federation.

Our History

We have a rich history that stretches back to when the organisation was founded on 22nd October 1953. Our vision has remained the same for almost 70 years – to provide and maintain sustainable community housing that is primarily for the Jewish community, however we do not restrict our housing to the Jewish community exclusively.

You can learn more about the impact that we have made on our community for over 70 years by viewing some of our 70 Stories for 70 Years videos.
