Mark Grandfield joined Leeds Jewish Housing Association on the 8th May 2018 as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
A qualified Building Surveyor, Mark has worked in the Social Housing sector for 20 years gaining substantial experience in Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Arm’s Length Management Organisations. His previous position was as the Head of Strategy and Investment for Leeds City Council.
Working for a Local Authority in recent years has required Mark to work outwardly with local stakeholders to build and maintain a number of vibrant communities across Leeds in different settings, therefore he was very excited to be joining Leeds Jewish Housing Association who have a very clear sense of purpose and position within its own local community.
When asked about starting his new position as CEO, Mark said: “Government policy on social housing is currently providing some big challenges to the sector but also some great opportunities to strengthen and develop new services to residents. What has impressed me so far is that Leeds Jewish Housing Association appears to have the appetite to develop new and innovative services whilst also remaining, at its core, a very resident facing and approachable local organisation. I can’t wait to get started”
One week into his post Mark admits he’s been made very welcome by the warm reception he has received from staff, board members and residents alike and looks forward to meeting many more residents in the upcoming months, he asks specifically that if you see him please do stop him and say hello.
