The Service Improvement Panel (SIP) are currently seeking new members to join their close-knit team. The panel was formed in 2015 as a way to allow tenants to analyse and scrutinise key LJHA policies and procedures in order to get the best value for money, amongst other benefits such as streamlining of processes.
They undertake reviews one at a time, meeting approximately once a month for a few hours to put together a report that they then present directly to the Board of Management, influencing changes at the highest level.
So far, the SIP have completed three reviews: General Needs Voids, Communications & Allocations. Through each review they are supported by an independent advisor who has worked with many other tenant groups over the country.
All training is provided and no professional experience is required for new members, however you will require skills such as the ability to work in a team as well as by yourself, critical thinking and the vision to be able to see the bigger picture when working.
Volunteering to work within the small team is a great way to support your neighbours, build on crucial experience for a CV or just simply help to give back to your community.
If you are interested, just go to ljha.co.uk/sip or call 0113 320 7777 and ask for more information on the Service Improvement Panel.
