LJHA are seeking tenant representation on its two main Sub Boards. We are seeking two tenants to sit on the Finance, Audit and Risk Sub Board and two tenants to sit on the Operations Sub Board. Each Sub Board meets 4 times a year and meetings are held in the evenings usually in Stonegate Way offices at LJHA.

The Sub Boards compliment the important work done by our main Board of Management and make important decisions that affect the running of the organisation and influence the services we provide to our customers.

Can anyone become a Sub Board member?

We are looking for tenants who are able to see the bigger picture and not just attend meetings for self-interest or for single issues.  As the Sub Boards form an integral and important part of our governance arrangements we are looking for people with a range of skills.

You will need to have the ability to take in levels of information that may be both strategic and operational and have good listening, oral and written skills. You need to have the commitment to attend meetings and are able to maintain the principles of accountability, confidentiality and openness.

Sub Board members are expected to always act in the interest of the organisation and have high levels of integrity.

We look for a range of skills and experience in the following disciplines:

•Board Director or Governance experience
•Strategic Leadership
•Financial management; accountancy, treasury management, audit, ICT
•Asset Management; property management, construction, regeneration
•Housing management and customer services
•Health and Social Care
•Business growth and development; change management, performance management
•Community involvement; stakeholder engagement, marketing and PR

Any appointments to the Sub Boards will be subject to an application and selection process.
Appointments will be based on merit and members are expected to sign a confidentiality agreement and abide by the Association’s Code of Conduct for Board and Sub Board members.
