Report from the chair of the Tenant Representatives ahead of their AGM to be held on the 31st July 2016 at 11am in the Eldan Suite MAZCC.

“I have been a Tenant Rep for the past 8 years, during which time the role has changed completely due to the new Governance regulations.

As a result of the changes we had a meeting with Linda Levin, who set up the Service Improvement Panel, to show us how Tenant Reps could work. It was obvious that we were becoming stagnant and there were other ways of how a Tenant Rep would act in the future.

Burton House, Skyte House and Stonegate Way have individual committees which run very successfully. Where I live we do not have any communal areas and therefore I am occasionally called upon to discuss any problems that a tenant may have.
This is very rare. 2 of my neighbours are members of the scrutiny panel and my other neighbours rarely have any problems.

I took on the role of chair at the last AGM as no one else was prepared to do it and feel it is now time to step down and look at other ways I can represent tenants.

The Chairs’ of the Committees at Burton House, Skyte House and Stonegate Way will
continue to act as Tenant Reps and we will have a meeting possibly twice a year to
discuss how our roles are working within the Community.

John Diamond would like to try and reform the Queenshill Tenants Association which was a very successful group prior to the building of the MAZZ Centre.
This needs you, the tenant, to look at how you can help.

We have a wonderful CEO, Lee Bloomfield, who will always be on hand to give of his time to help us all move forward in a positive way.

I would like to personally thank Lee Bloomfield, Craig Simons and Danielle Firth for their help during the past year.

I look forward to working with them in the future in a volunteer role which will benefit the LJHA and the tenants alike.”
